The Story Behind TCG
In 2019, Conor Graney, the founder of The Curious Globalist (TCG), found himself drawn to a life of exploration and cultural immersion.
His journey began in the bustling streets of Rosario, Santa Fe, where he worked as an English teacher and played rugby while studying linguistics. During those seven transformative months, Conor immersed himself in Argentinean life, which left a lasting impact on him.
After returning home, Conor's passion for travel and discovery was still burning. Just two weeks later, he headed to Padova, Italy. There, he worked as a freelance English tutor and played semi-professional rugby, navigating the cultural differences with an eagerness to learn and explore.
Each new experience fueled Conor's love for travel—the languages, the food, the people—all deepened his appreciation for the world. But when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, travel came to a halt. Instead of being discouraged, Conor used this time to create The Curious Globalist (TCG).
From those challenging months, TCG was born. Conor envisioned TCG as more than just a travelogue; he wanted it to be a source of knowledge about geopolitical issues, historical events, and cultural diversity. TCG grew from a small idea into a thriving community, thanks to Conor's dedication and curiosity.
